Tankless Water Heater Brands
As With many other household products, you will soon find there is a large amount of
options to consider when looking at tankless water heater brands. Your first task is deciding if you want to get a
traditional unit or go with a tankless type. Many individuals find that a tankless water heater provides so many
benefits that it is hard not to get one. So let us take a look at a few of the most common brands of heaters to
consider.
Bosch Brand Over the years the Bosch brand has built up a good
reputable image in the market place providing several models to choose from. Looking at this brand alone with its
many options that are available will allow you to select the one that is right for your home. The Bosch brand has
seven different models to choose from with the highest one having an input rate of 200,000 and the lowest model
they offer is set at 40,000 input rate. When looking at efficiency the average is generally around 82% with a
couple of the models reaching 87%.
The flow rate from unit to unit varies wildly with the lowest coming in at 1.2 GPM while
the highest supports 7.2 GPM. Some of the models contain a natural vent type but the 125FX Model is forced and the
Models 22400E and 2700ES are indoor/outdoor types. Some of these models you will find contain a pilot ignition
system, one is hydro, the remaining models are all electronic.
Rinnai Brand Rinnai is the next of the tankless water heater brands to
review. Rinnai supports two different models and when comparing them against the Bosch models the input rates are
above average with one being 180,000 while the other is at 199,000. The efficiency runs consistently on an average
of 83% with the flow rate on both being around 5.5 GPM. On the model 2532W the vent type is forced, but the 2532FFU
is direct. The ignition on both models is electronic.
Takagi Brand The third brand is Takagi and is worth checking out. In
their line of water heaters they offer four differnt models, and like Bosch, the input wildly varies with the
lowest being 140,000 and the highest model at 190,000. Their efficiency averages around 84% and has a flow rate
that ranges from 4.2 GPM to 5.7 GPM. Three of the models contain a forced vent type, but the model T-KD20 has a
direct vent. All of the models have an electronic ignition system.
Nortiz Brand Another brand to check out is Nortiz. They have
manufactured one model, which is the N-063S, and is rated above average. This model has an input of 194,000 and a
efficiency of 84% along with a flow rate of 5.6 GPM. It has a forced vent type which is 4 inches and also has an
electronic ignition system. Many state that for hard water areas, a Nortiz tankless water heater works best. It
works best because of its ability to handle calcium and hard mineral deposits that cause problems in some units. An
added benefit is the ease with which the water conditioner can be changed and the maintenance of the unit itself.
The input rating is the highest and all through the life of the unit the efficiency rating is
maintained.
Tankless water heater brands need to be thoroughly researched before being purchased since
there may be additional costs in plumbing associated with the installation of the product. Also, the actual
needs of the household must be determined in order to purchase the correct size tankless water heater.
